It's always tough to see former members of your team walk away from the game but it happens every year. This time for the New England Patriots, a former key member of the defense has decided to walk away from the game.

Defensive back Logan Ryan posted a video on X, saying he's officially retiring from the National Football League.

Ryan's caption said, "Thank you to all my family, friends and teammates for the guidance and support! Thanks to the fans for watching! Won 2 Super Bowls and got out happy and healthy to be the best father for my children! Thanks again for 11 seasons! Cheers to what’s next."

Patriots News: Logan Ryan Is Retiring From the NFL

Ryan was selected in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft out of Rutgers and spent the first four years of his career in New England, winning Super Bowls XLIX and LI.

In his Patriots tenure, Ryan totaled 243 total tackles, five tackles for loss, 41 pass deflections, and 13 interceptions.

The New Jersey native was always a reliable and consistent defender in the backend throughout his career. Ryan played both cornerback and safety but an underrated factor was his leadership.

He thrived as a leader for the defense and always found a way to make a play. Now as he officially steps away from the game, he can look back and soak up all those glory days at Gillette Stadium.

Being a part of the Pats dynasty with Tom Brady and Bill Belichick at the helm is something that Ryan will never forget.
