When Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots parted ways after 24 years with the franchise, many expected the legendary head coach to find a new coaching gig right away. There were plenty of vacancies around the NFL and he was officially interviewing with the Atlanta Falcons. However, nothing came to fruition and the 72-year-old chose the media path.

The six-time Super Bowl winner began appearing on The Pat McAfee show and announced that he would join Peyton and Eli on Manningcast on Monday nights. This was seen by some as a one-year break before Belichick returned to coaching as it was widely assumed that he would want to break Don Shula's record of all-time wins, which he is 26 away.

It turns out, however, that Belichick may have different plans. According to The Sun, Belichick is enjoying "the simple life" too much to go back to coaching any time soon.

"I don’t know if he is looking to go back to coaching again, I may be wrong, but I think that he is realizing that there is more in life than just football."

Former colleague of Belichick

Quoting a former Patriots colleague who spoke on the condition of anonymity, The Sun claimed that Belichick now has a different outlook on life and is enjoying "another shot at youthfulness". Belichick has been dating 24-year-old Jordon Hudson recently and according to TMZ, the couple has been living together for months.

It was reported that Belichick and Hudson met on a plane three years ago and have kept in touch and started a relationship.

How long Belichick can sustain this new look on life remains to be seen. Someone as competitive and ambitious as Belichick may find it hard to walk away from the game for good, so we will believe it when we see it.
