Bill Belichick Lands Another Unexpected Job for 2024 Season
It's been an offseason full of change for the New England Patriots and Bill Belichick. After being together for 24 seasons, the Pats decided to move on from the legendary coach in January.
They handed over the coaching duties to Jerod Mayo as they look to reshape the organization.
As for Belichick, he failed to land one of the eight head coaching openings. This offseason instead, he's been gauging the market to see what opportunities are available.
Back in April, he locked down a spot on the Manningcast. He is going to be a regular guest this fall on Monday Night Football with both Peyton and Eli Manning.
Now a few months later, the 72-year-old just landed an unexpected gig.
NFL News: Bill Belichick Is Joining Underdog
Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, Belichick is joining forces with Underdog Fantasy to create and co-produce a football show starting this season.
The show will have Belichick giving the fans a behind-the-scenes look. He's going to break down film and talk to fans as if he were coaching the team.
This is certainly a different landscape for the future Hall of Fame coach but an exciting one.
Watching how Belichick breaks down game tape will get plenty of people tuned in. Who wouldn't want to learn any type of knowledge from an eight-time Super Bowl champion?
Football season is right around the corner so this will likely be available in a few weeks.
One thing that's clear, Belichick wants to get back on the sideline. He's let people know that he wants to get into coaching in 2025.
He's only 26 wins away from tying Don Shula for the most wins as a head coach at 328. That means we should enjoy this Underdog gig a bit more cause if he gets that opportunity to coach again, he's taking it.
