The Boston Celtics haven’t shied away from their intentions of trying to repeat next season. The Celtics have spent a ton of money this offseason, handing out massive contract extensions to Jayson Tatum and Derrick White, keeping them in Boston for the foreseeable future.

Boston also re-signed multiple bench players in the frontcourt – Luke Kornet, Xavier Tillman, and Neemas Queta, who will be leaned on heavily to start the season. In addition to those guys, the Celtics have locked in another key player off the bench, who has developed into one of the most accurate three-point shooters in the NBA.

Celtics News: Boston Inks Sam Hauser to Multi-Year Contract Extension

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported Sunday that the Celtics and forward Sam Hauser agreed to terms on a four-year, $45 million contract extension. Hauser will now be with the organization through the 2028-29 season.

Last month, the Celtics picked Hauser’s $2.1 million option for next season, indicating that the team had future plans for the 26-year-old forward.

The 6-foot-8 forward was a viable shooting threat off the bench for the Celtics this past season, scoring a career-high nine points per game on 44.6 percent shooting from the field and 42.4 percent from beyond the arc (5.9 attempts per game).

After a strong regular season performance, Hauser saw his minutes and production decrease slightly in the NBA playoffs. However, when the NBA Finals rolled around, Hauser found a way to make an impact.

Hauser averaged 8.2 points and 3.0 rebounds in 15.5 minutes per game. He also shot 51.9 percent from the field and 47.8 percent from beyond the arc. With Hauser back in the fold, the Celtics are primed to make another deep playoff run next season.
