Last year’s first-round pick Christian Gonzalez only played in four games with the New England Patriots as he missed a significant amount of time due to a dislocated shoulder and torn labrum.

However, Gonzalez played well enough as a rookie (17 total tackles, three pass deflections, and an interception) that Patriots fans are excited to see what he can do in his sophomore season.

But before the action begins this coming season, the former Oregon standout is making a quick wardrobe change. Gonzalez will be wearing No. 0 in 2024, making him the first player in New England history to rock No. 0.

Last week on Instagram, the 21-year-old cornerback hinted towards a new number after he wore No. 6 last season. Gonzalez wore 0 at Oregon, where he made a name for himself and became a first-round pick.

If Gonzalez plays like the guy we saw at Oregon in 2021, then Patriots fans could be in for a treat as the team has the secondary almost set, with the re-signing of Kyle Dugger on Sunday.

The 6-foot-2 cornerback was one of the best defensive backs in the country in his last season with the Ducks. Gonzalez posted 50 total tackles, seven pass deflections, four interceptions, and a tackle for loss.

The Patriots hope that Gonzalez is set to have a huge second season as they will need him, especially playing in the AFC East, which features Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Garrett Wilson, and Mike Williams.
