There aren't many other teams that have undergone as much change this offseason as the New England Patriots.

It started when they decided to let go of Bill Belichick and made Jerod Mayo the lead man.

They ended up retaining key players in Mike Onwenu, Kyle Dugger, and Christian Barmore. In the NFL Draft, they nabbed Drake Maye with the third overall pick to become the next franchise quarterback.

It's a new era in New England and one of their exciting players from last year seems to be turning the page on an injury he suffered in 2023. Christian Gonzalez met with the media on Tuesday and gave a positive update on his shoulder.

Patriots News: Christian Gonzalez Says Shoulder Injury in the Past

In the presser, Gonzalez said, "I'm good, healthy. Excited to go. Focused on just getting better and coming in every day, getting back to work."

He followed up with, "That's [shoulder] in the past. Ready for right now. Happy to be back in the building, be around the guys, and have fun."

That is a sigh of relief for Patriots fans after Gonzalez missed 13 games in 2023 with a torn labrum.

Before the injury happened, Gonzalez looked like the real deal in his short sample size. He was superb in coverage with a good knack for finding the ball in the air.

In four games, Gonzalez finished with 17 total tackles, three pass deflections, and one interception. According to PFF, he notched an 80.8 overall grade while allowing a 67.5 passer rating when targeted.

Gonzalez is a big piece for the Pats in 2024, so it's great news to hear him speak positively regarding his rehab.
