Things have been rocky for Mac Jones and the New England Patriots over the past few years. Jones was selected in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft to replace future Hall-of-Famer Tom Brady, which are huge shoes to fill.

Jones never seemed to get off the ground and struggled throughout his time in New England. In 2023 alone, Jones was benched on four different occasions before the job was officially turned over to Bailey Zappe.

The Alabama product has built a reputation of being a player that complains when things aren't going well but that gets under his teammates' skin, especially when he's not playing well. Jones had a chance to flip the narrative under new head coach Jerod Mayo but instead, his teammates are already annoyed with him.

According to Greg Bedard of Boston Sports Journal, teammates were unhappy with Jones' appearance at Mayo's press conference.

A team source told Greg Bedard of the Boston Sports journal, "Everyone's watched him play, they've watched him act like a prima donna. The team is sick of it, everyone's sick of it."

"He was in his workout gear which is ironic since he cleared his entire locker at the end of the season. Not a single hanger. Completely empty... I mean come on man."

That shouldn't be the mentality of a player who's fighting to make a new impression under the current coaching staff. Jones was benched countless times under former coach Bill Belichick and his reputation in the locker room is stained. The 25-year-old clearly isn't bothered by that and his actions at the press conference showed that.
