It's a new era in Foxborough. Jerod Mayo and GM Eliot Wolf are the two men in charge of the Pats' rebuild and have a mixture of young players and veterans.

It will be a slugfest in the AFC East against the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, and the New York Jets. The Pats will have an uphill climb and that road begins on July 19 when rookies report for training camp and July 23 for veterans.

Even though there is a lot of excitement around the team, EDGE Matthew Judon and New England hit a roadblock in contract discussions.

It was even reported by Greg A. Bedard that Judon expressed to New England that he won't play under his current contract and has played nice to the public.

He fired back at these claims on social media.

Pats News: Matthew Judon Answers to Rumors

Judon responded on X saying, "Before yall get on my ass I didn’t say that. At all don’t let them make me the villain."

The 32-year-old wanted to make it clear that he hadn't said any of the things that Bedard reported.

It is clear that Judon is looking for a new deal, as he heads into the final season of his four-year, $54 million deal. He is scheduled to make $6.5 million, which is a low number compared to the top five EDGE rushers in the league, who make at least $25 million annually.

Judon has been productive for the Pats (32 sacks in three seasons) but is coming off a torn bicep tendon. That could be playing into why New England hasn't shelved out massive money his way but that doesn't mean that won't change before the season gets underway in September.

As of right now, they aren't close on a new deal. Things are constantly shifting day to day but Judon wants to let the fanbase know he didn't say the things that Bedard has reported. It's anyone's best guess what the truth is but the news around Judon won't stop as long as he seeks a new contract.
