NFL Issues Response to Latest Kayshon Boutte News
The NFL season is right around the corner! Training camp is finally kicking off around the league and the Patriots are going to have new voices running the ship.
Now Jerod Mayo and Eliot Wolf are in charge of the rebuild for the Pats. Rookies report to the facility on July 19 while veterans arrive on July 23.
This squad has some hurdles to clear in 2024 but recently they got some good news regarding Kayshon Boutte and the NFL released a statement regarding it.
Pats News: NFL Releases a Statement on Kayshon Boutte
Back in January, Boutte was arrested for placing nearly 9,000 bets while being underage and using a fake account. 17 of those games were on college football but the state of Louisiana recently dropped all the charges on Boutte.
On July 16, an NFL spokesperson said, "We have been following developments in the matter, which remains under review. He may continue to participate in all team activities."
Although his legal charges have been dropped, that doesn't mean he won't face any disciplinary actions from the NFL. Pats nation will have to wait and see if the league decides to give Boutte a suspension or fine but he has the clearance to still participate in team activities.
The 22-year-old has been with New England since being selected in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL Draft. Last season, he reeled in two catches (7 targets) for 19 yards.
He looks to take a step forward this season as he finished off mandatory minicamp strong. Now it's about bringing that same energy into training camp and he'll have the opportunity to do so.
