The New England Patriots own the No. 3 overall pick and signed quarterback Jacoby Brissett on a one-year, $8 million deal but he isn't the long-term answer.

There are plenty of exciting QB prospects at the top of the draft but it looks like New England is out on a specific signal caller.

Per Alex Barth of 985TheSportsHub, the main decision-makers for the Patriots won't be attending Michael Penix's Pro Day. Penix is also the only quarterback that the Patriots didn't meet with at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Patriots News: New England Won't Attend Michael Penix's Pro Day

This draft features Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels, and J.J. McCarthy at the top of the class. It seems like New England likes these guys more than they do Penix Jr.

The Washington product owns a very strong arm with pinpoint accuracy on all three levels. He has the ability to quickly go through his progressions. Over his last two seasons, Penix Jr. has thrown for 9,544 yards with 67 passing touchdowns to 19 interceptions.

He has great talent but suffered two torn ACLs and two shoulder injuries during his tenure at the University of Indiana from 2018-2021.

His injury history may be a reason why the Pats aren't high on him.

There are a bunch of options on who the Pats can select with the third overall pick. According to FanDuel Sportsbook, Drake Maye is the favorite at -150 to be the selection for New England. If you want to take lock-in of these odds, head over to FanDuel Sportsbook and claim your sign-up bonus.
