Patriots Bring in Former 1st-Round Bust for Workout Ahead of Week 1
The New England Patriots have their work cut out for them this upcoming season. They are rebuilding this team from the ground up and have new voices running the show in Jerod Mayo and Eliot Wolf.
New England has added a nice collection of playmakers this offseason in the NFL Draft and also retained a bunch of playmakers on both sides of the ball.
Regardless of the fact, they aren't done adding to the team so New England brought a former first-rounder in for a workout on Tuesday.
Patriots News: Caleb Farley Came in for a Workout
According to Field Yates of ESPN, the Patriots worked out cornerback Caleb Farley. The 25-year-old was selected in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans.
Unfortunately, injuries have taken a toll on his early NFL career. Farley tore his ACL as a rookie in 2021 before having a back injury that forced him to miss additional time.
That has limited the Virginia Tech product to just 14 total tackles and one pass deflection in 12 NFL games.
If Farley is fully healthy, he may be worth a dart throw for New England. He stands at 6'2 and came into the league as an instinctive defender who can make plays on the ball.
During his time in college, he finished with 56 total tackles, 19 pass breakups, and six interceptions. If he can rekindle some of the spark he had at Virginia Tech then he may be able to land a deal with New England and look to revive his NFL career.
