The New England Patriots have been rocked by injuries and health issues during the early going of the 2024 season. Defender and captain Ja'Whaun Bentley was just the latest player to go down for New England, as it's been revealed he'll miss the entire rest of the year due to a torn pec muscle.

Despite these troubles, the Patriots are pushing on to Week 3 with a matchup against a vulnerable New York Jets team. And while the Pats still have some pregame injuries to keep a close eye on, it appears one key veteran is going to suit up.

Fellow captain and offensive lineman David Andrews said Wednesday he's "fine" despite making a surprise appearance on the team's Week 3 injury report. Andrews even claimed he's feeling "great," while joking "I look great, too."

Assuming Andrews isn't playing any mind games to keep the Jets on their toes, this is much-needed good news for New England on the health front. As the experienced center on this O-line, Andrews is the lynchpin keeping this unit together.

Of course, the Patriots' offensive line has been one of the biggest liabilities over the first two weeks for Jerod Mayo's squad. But that only means they can't afford to lose a crucial player and leader like Andrews; otherwise, things could get much worse for this unit.

While Andrews looks ready to suit up, it remains to be seen if his other teammates join him in the trenches. Starting tackle Verderian Lowe, left guard Sidy Sow, right guard Layden Robinson, and right tackle Mike Owenu are all on the Week 3 injury report.
