The New England Patriots have dealt with a lot of change this offseason. They have seen movement along the coaching staff and the roster as they head into the 2024 season.

We know injuries are a part of the game but one star defender is dealing with a health scare that is sidelining him indefinitely.

The Patriots have done right by him before things get in full swing this fall.

Patriots News: New England Will Pay Christian Barmore’s Salary in Full

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Patriots are going to pay defensive tackle Christian Barmore's entire 2024 salary, even though he's on the Non-Football Injury list.

Barmore was diagnosed with blood clots on July 28 and is sidelined indefinitely. Teams don't have to pay players on the NFI list but New England wanted to reward one of their best players. This past April, Barmore signed a massive four-year extension that is worth up to $92 million.

Over the past three seasons, the 25-year-old has compiled 133 total tackles, 18 tackles for loss, 32 QB hits, and 12.5 sacks. He's an anchor along the interior but the Pats may be without him for the entire 2024 season.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler wrote on Thursday, "The Patriots are bracing for the possibility that defensive tackle Christian Barmore, who's on Reserve/Non-Football Injury list while being treated for blood clots, won't play this season. New England doesn't want to rush his recovery by any stretch. If he makes it back, great. But the team won't push it. He's a long-term asset."

With that being known, it makes the news of New England paying his salary that much more heartfelt.
