Patriots-Matthew Judon Situation Even Messier After New Update
The New England Patriots are in training camp as they are in the beginning stages of a rebuild. They have a new quarterback, head coach, and general manager in place.
They were certainly looking for a quiet summer but that hasn't been the case. EDGE Matthew Judon has openly asked for a new contract but the two sides have failed to agree.
Things trickled into practice when Judon seemed to have a disagreement with Mayo. He didn't participate in the July 29th practice and even called out the team for not using their cap space to extend him.
When you didn't think things could be worse, they did with the latest report.

Patriots News: Matthew Judon and Pats Aren’t Close on Deal
According to Mike Giardi of the Boston Sports Journal, New England and Judon are "far, far, far apart" in contract negotiations as of yesterday morning.
The 31-year-old is entering the final season of his four-year, $54.5 million deal. He's slated to make $14.675 million this season, which is certainly an underpay for an effective edge rusher in the league.
The ten highest-paid edge rushers in the NFL are making at least $22 million so of course Judon is looking for a raise.
But from the Pats' perspective, they may not want to give a defender who is coming off surgery and is over 30 years old an extension.
Despite that, Judon has been a menace off the edge. Since 2021, he is 10th in the league in sacks (32).
Even with these numbers, it looks like his time in New England is ticking and could be coming to an end soon.
