Patriots Reportedly Sign All-UFL Lineman in Free Agency
The New England Patriots are in the midst of a complete rebuild this offseason after handing over the reins to Jerod Mayo and Eliot Wolf.
The Patriots have a lot of questions about the team as they are incorporating a new culture after 24 seasons.
The Pats re-signed a bunch of key players like Kendrick Bourne, Josh Uche, Kyle Dugger, and Mike Onwenu.
Despite making a flurry of moves, the Pats still have their work cut out for them. The offensive line is a massive question mark and New England bolstered that unit with the latest addition.
Patriots News: New England Plans To Sign Liam Fornadel
According to Christian Paolantonio, the New England Patriots are signing offensive lineman Liam Fornadel. On June 17, the Pats released guard Ryan Johnson.
That move opened up a roster spot for the Pats and it looks like Fornadel will be taking that. A few weeks ago, Fornadel worked out for New England and it looks like he impressed the coaching staff and the front office.
The former James Madison product suited up for the UFL D.C. Defenders for the last two years. He was an anchor who thrived in both the run and pass game. In 2023, he was selected to the 2023 All-XFL Team.
The 24-year-old has the ability to move players in the run game and has a chance to compete for a backup role in 2024.
This past season, Fornadel played in all 10 games for the Defenders, finishing the year with the sixth highest pass blocking grade (82.4) and second highest offensive grade at OL (79.1) according to PFF.
With training camp taking place next month, the Pats continue to add players to the roster.
