Patriots vs Giants Opening Odds for Week 12 Predict Major Turnaround
By Tyler Maher
Coming off a much-needed bye week, the 2-8 New England Patriots will try to bounce back with a win this week. They'll look to end their three-game losing streak when they make a short trip down to New Jersey to face the 3-8 New York Giants, who are coming off of a surprising win over the Washington Commanders.
Which side will win this matchup between two of the worst teams in the NFL? The opening odds may surprise you.
Patriots vs Giants Week 12 Opening Odds
As of Monday morning, WynnBET has the Patriots as 3.5-point road favorites against the Giants in Week 12.
This is surprising for a couple of reasons. For starters, New York has a better record and has home-field advantage, which usually leads to being favored.
The Giants are banged up, yes, but they also seem to have a legitimate quarterback on their hands in Tommy DeVito. The 25-year-old rookie has a 6:3 TD/INT ratio in 4 appearances (2 starts) so far and has been playing better with each passing week. He just led New York to a road win over a more talented Commanders team and seems to be gaining confidence.
New England, on the other hand, doesn't even know who its starting quarterback is this week. Mac Jones is on incredibly thin ice after getting benched for the third time this season in Week 10, and there are rumblings that the Patriots are finally going to bench him for good. If that happens, it's hard to imagine Bailey Zappe or Will Grier outdueling DeVito on the road.
We've made some good money by fading New England this year, so why stop now? Take the points with the G-Men at home.
