It wasn't a pretty first month of the season for the New England Patriots. They are currently on a three-game skid with a divisional tilt versus the Miami Dolphins on the slate for Week 5.

Regardless, the Pats have been slammed with injuries through four weeks and things continue to get worse.

Patriots News: Caedan Wallace Is Going To Miss an Extended Period of Time

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, rookie offensive tackle Caedan Wallace is being placed on injured reserve with an ankle injury. He's now expected to miss at least six weeks with this injury. He got hurt in the loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 4 and didn't return to the game.

Wallace was selected in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft to help fortify the trenches. He played right tackle in college but the Pats have transitioned him to left tackle in the pros.

Across 70 offensive snaps in three weeks, he's allowed one sack and three total pressures. Wallace has also committed four penalties but his presence out there will be missed. The Penn State product has also been used as a tight end in jumbo sets.

With the 24-year-old now out, the Pats have Vederian Lowe, Demontrey Jacobs, and Mike Onwenu at tackle on the 53-man roster. They also have Caleb Jones and Jalen McKenzie as options on the practice squad.

Everything starts up front and New England has struggled in that department. They are second in the NFL in team sacks allowed (17), only trailing the Cleveland Browns.

It's difficult to get into any kind of rhythm offensively when there is constant pressure and defenders in the backfield. And now it may get worse with Wallace slated to miss time.
