The Boston Red Sox are one month into the regular season and are currently sitting at 16-13. Even though 133 games are remaining, the Red Sox have been slammed with some major injuries.

Shortstop Trevor Story (shoulder) and starting pitcher Lucas Giolito (elbow) are both already out for the year and newly acquired Vaughn Grissom has been sidelined since coming over to Boston.

On Dec. 30, the Red Sox shipped out Chris Sale to the Atlanta Braves in exchange for Grissom.

Unfortunately, he hasn't been able to step on the diamond but things have started to trend in the right direction.

Red Sox News: Vaughn Grissom Is Nearing A Return for Boston

Grissom has been rehabbing a hamstring strain since spring training but is close to rejoining the team.

After Sunday's win over the Chicago Cubs, manager Alex Cora spoke with the media and gave some insight regarding Grissom.

Cora told the Boston Globe, "If everything goes well, I do believe he’s going to be with us (Tuesday)."

Starting on April 29, the Red Sox begin a three-game series against the San Francisco Giants and the belief is Grissom will join them.

The 23-year-old was sent to the Triple-A Worcester as a part of his rehab assignment, where he played in nine games. His batting average was .333 with 10 hits, two doubles, and two RBI. He went 4-of-4 in what was most likely his last contest down there.

Grissom's presence on the field will provide a massive boost for Boston as one of the best players on the team takes the diamond.
