Rival Star QB Makes Shocking Tom Brady Statement
By Cem Yolbulan
It has almost been two years since Tom Brady officially retired from the NFL but he is continuing to dominate the airwaves. The Patriots legend started his broadcasting career this season but his playing days are still being put under a microscope.
Even though his seven Super Bowl wins, five Super Bowl MVPs, and three NFL MVPs make him the GOAT in the eyes of many football fans, his greatness is still debated by some doubters. The latest addition to that list is current Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield. The 29-year-old signal-caller, who signed with the Bucs to replace Brady in the 2023 offseason accused the former Patriot of playing mind games and stressing out the team.
NFL News: Baker Mayfield Takes Massive Shot at Tom Brady
In his appearance on the Casa de Klub podcast, according to NBC Sports' Pro Football Talk, Mayfield relayed some of the stories he had heard in the locker room. He said that Brady would throw the ball away or at the running back's feet on purpose if he didn't like a certain play call.
"The building was a little bit different with Tom in there. Obviously, playing-wise, Tom is different. He had everybody dialed in, high-strung environment, so I think everybody was pretty stressed out. They wanted me to come in, be myself, bring the joy back to football for guys who weren’t having as much fun."

One can debate Brady's methods, but the results are undeniable. He won a Super Bowl in his first year in Tampa Bay and made the postseason every single year. Mayfield has exceeded expectations there since joining but he obviously doesn't make the Bucs a title contender.
Maybe it's true that the joy is back in Tampa Bay and it is a lower-stress environment but plenty of players would likely exchange that for a chance to win the Super Bowl.
