The Boston Red Sox may not be promising on the field, but their farm system isn't declining one bit. Many top prospects have been performing well and are really defining their craft. All of them start somewhere, and it's in Rookie Ball.

The Florida Complex League (FCL) Red Sox, now over 30 games into the season, have three true standouts who are due a promotion to Low-A Salem at minimum.

SP Sadbiel Delzine

Delzine is going to become one of the better pitchers in the Red Sox farm system rankings soon. It may already be the case if not for Anthony Eyanson, Kyson Witherspoon, Juan Valera, and Jake Bennett. But Delzine isn't as developed as those five pitchers above him, and once they graduate, he'll stand alone as the de facto top pitching prospect on that list.

This season, he's posted a 1.98 ERA with 32 strikeouts in 27 1/3 innings pitched. He hasn't started every game, having only four starts to his name so far, but that's to keep a steady workload for the rising prospect. This is because of the flexor injury he suffered last year, which caused him to miss most of his first season as a pro. But they're giving him reps out of the bullpen as well, having three other appearances.

With that in mind, Delzine should at least get a promotion to Low-A Salem by the end of July. Understandably, they're warming him up to the workload, so he'll probably be ready by then.

C/1B Franklin Primera

Rising fast through the farm system is Franklin Primera, who's currently under the FCL Red Sox affiliate alongside Delzine. In fact, he's catching for him.

He has advanced defense for his age and is very advanced contact-wise as well. Primera has shown that in spades so far this year, batting .464 with eight home runs and a 1.411 OPS. He has been very consistent, and he should be brought up to Low-A Salem as their next promotion, whenever that may be.

The Red Sox have some intriguing prospects worth monitoring

The Red Sox have some intriguing prospects, and Primera and Delzine are the newest members of that elite farm system. It's so in-depth that their 20th-to 30th-ranked prospects could turn out to be successful ballplayers in the bigs.

Delzine, who's ranked 19th on Chowder and Champions' Top 30 Prospects List, has the potential to be one of the best pitching prospects in baseball by his third season as a pro. Primera had emerged out of nowhere and is now another top prospect in the bunch as well. They were also both named FCL Pitcher and Player of the Week in the week of June 14th.

This is going to be a fun summer with all these possible prospect promotions.
