The New England Patriots' quest for a legitimate No. 1 wide receiver ended on Tuesday evening when they signed multi-time Pro Bowl playmaker Stefon Diggs to a three-year, $69 million contract. Diggs will be expected to play a big role in helping quarterback Drake Maye unlock his potential, and the upcoming partnership has Patriots fans feeling optimistic about the duo's outlook.
Having said that, fans aren't the only people excited to see Diggs in a New England jersey. After Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez expressed his excitement for the signing with a social media post, another one of the 31-year-old WR's new teammates isn't hiding how pumped he is about the deal.
Patriots WR Kendrick Bourne Reacts to Stefon Diggs Signing
Patriots veteran WR Kendrick Bourne is the latest player to react to Diggs' offseason signing. The former Eastern Washington product only needed three words to voice his excitement, re-posting a pic of the news to his Instagram story (h/t @PatriotsCLNS) with the caption, "This dumbbbb littttt!!!"

Bourne is one of the Patriots' most experienced wideouts, so it isn't shocking that he's already welcoming Diggs with open arms. The former All-Pro playmaker's arrival means Bourne (and the rest of New England's wideouts) will have easier matchups going forward, which should boost a passing attack that was graded as the ninth-worst unit by Pro Football Focus last season.
Diggs, 31, heads to the Patriots after a torn ACL prematurely ended his 2024 run with the Houston Texans. Despite the major injury, all signs point to the six-time 1,000-yard receiver being fully healthy come September. That's promising news considering how he was on pace for another 1,000-yard performance with 496 yards and three touchdowns on 47 catches across eight games last season.
As for Bourne, he's looking to bounce back after injuries limited him to a 28-305-1 stat line in 12 appearances with the Patriots. It's going to be interesting to see if he can improve on that performance with Diggs in the fold, especially since Bourne was on pace for a career-high 864 receiving yards before tearing his ACL in 2023.
After back-to-back four-win campaigns, a much-improved WR room could be the key to the Patriots' surpassing that total next season. As it stands, FanDuel Sportsbook is currently listing New England's 2025 win total at 7.5 with the Over being favored at -114 odds.
