This could be a breakout season for Boston Bruins forward David Pastrnak

Boston Bruins 20-year-old David Pastrnak has played this year so far. It is a small sample size but if he keeps it up he will be one of the top wingers this year.

David Pastrnak had a tough rookie season as he only played in 46 games. He had 27 points his rookie season. This was because coach Claude Julien was a little apprehensive to have a 18-year-old kid start in the NHL.

Last season (2015-16) was tough for Pastrnak. He was only able to play in only 51 games due to injury. His injuries were an upper body injury which did not keep him out very long. Then he suffered a broken foot and missed a few months.

Pastrnak was still able to get 26 points. Pasta looked as if he was going to have a breakout year last year but with injuries it did not happen, then the critics started saying maybe he is not that good.

He is showing the critics this year that they are wrong. So far this season Pasta has 7 points in 5 games. This places him in top 10 of the League. behind teammate Brad Marchand who has 9 points. and has looked great. Pasta has played well because in these first few games.

Part of it can be attributed to being placed on the top line with Bergeron and Marchand. If Pasta stays with Bergeron I can see him hitting the 30 goal mark if he keeps up this scoring pace.

If there is a year that David Pastrnak is going to shine it is going to be this one. Through the first five games, I think that his name has been said more than former line-mate David Krejci.

"“He’s been playing amazing hockey right now,” Bergeron said of Pastrnak, who is tied for the NHL lead with four goals through three games. “He seems to really be creating a lot of chances, but also playing some smart hockey, and Brad and David were really, really good during that road trip.”"
