The Bears shook things up selecting Mitchell Trubisky 2nd overall. The Browns need a QB. Could they look to land New England Patriots’ Jimmy Garoppolo?

The New England Patriots could land a few more picks in this 2017 NFL Draft pretty soon. The Bears shook things up, trading up one spot to 2nd overall to select North Carolina QB Mitchell Trubisky.

Everyone thought Trubisky was heading to the Cleveland Browns in this draft. Not so fast. Now, the Browns need to figure out who their starting QB can be in 2017.

The Jimmy Garoppolo rumors should be flying!

More from New England Patriots

I can’t see Cleveland wanting to land DeShaun Watson or any other player in this draft to be their man of the future. They want Garoppolo, it’s well now. The only question is what they will need to give up. In my last mock draft, I had this exact scenario go down.

The Browns should trade the 12th overall pick, 33rd overall pick, and two future second-round picks to the New England Patriots for Jimmy Garoppolo’s services.

"If Cleveland selects Myles Garrett 1st overall and doesn’t find a trade partner to move up from their 12th overall selection to choose QB Mitch Trubisky, and he goes off the board, that’s when things happen. In that case, I agree with Jeff Howe that the Browns would jump at the chance for Garoppolo, sending the 12th overall pick, 33rd overall pick, and two future second round picks."

This would be perfect for the Patriots, as they’d move into the first and second rounds. As it stands now, they are without a pick in both rounds.
