When the Steelers and Colts played each other in Week 8 Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger threw for 522 yards and six touchdowns, scorching the Colts 51-34. The performance was praised by many as the best in his career and one of the best in NFL history, so when it came to Week 9 the Steelers were looking to keep the momentum going when they faced the Baltimore Ravens in an important AFC North divisional matchup. Going in to the Sunday Night Football matchup, nobody thought the Roethlisberger could duplicate the performance he put up in Week 8 especially against a tough Ravens defense. But what fans witnessed on that cold November night in Pittsburgh was something that we had never before seen in NFL history as Roethlisberger had another six touchdown performance as he and the Steelers defeated the Ravens 43-23. While Roethlisberger wasn’t masterful as he was against the Colts, accruing 340 yards, 12 incompletions and being sacked three times for 19 yards, he once again found 5 different receivers in the end zone. Antonio Brown was able to find the ball 11 times for 144 yards and scoring 1 touchdown, while Martavis Bryant only caught three balls but managed to find the end zone twice. The Week 8 and 9 performances are without a doubt two impressive wins by the Steelers against potential playoff teams, and witnessing ‘Big Ben’ throw for 12 touchdown passes in two weeks is just another sign that he is still one of the best quarterbacks in the game.
