Wild Bills: Analyzing the Buffalo Bills Offense Against New England
Rex Ryan, Head Coach

Can’t count it out. At all. Rex Ryan has been one of the only coaches to consistently bamboozle, or at least slow down Tom Brady and Bill Belichick with his well-disguised pressures. It’s extremely unlikely that Rexy will blitz in the 45% range again, given that Brady typically eats blitzes for breakfast (135.6 passer rating vs the blitz), but with Brady’s history of playing sub-Brady football against Rex’s defensive plans, Rex’s coverages have to be given credit. Also, rolling the dice on starting Tyrod Taylor looks like Ryan might finally have a competent, if not spectacular, starting quarterback for the first time in, well, a long time.
Who Can Stop Him?
…Guess.
Percy Harvin has been excluded on purpose – despite his gorgeous touchdown grab last week, in four years and as many teams, he still hasn’t proven that he’s any more than a gadget guy. You can only run so many end-arounds, after all.
This game will be just as big of a test for New England’s youthful defense as last week’s was – and something, just something, tells me that the Bills aren’t going to forget to cover Gronkowski.
