The Bruins are going to need to make some trades if they are going to go deep in the postseason, it really is that simple. As I mentioned earlier, the the defense of the Bruins is particularly thin especially without Chara or Seidenberg. That being said, even id Sweeney does not make a move, this team certainly has the talent to make the playoffs. A deep playoff run however, is extremely unlikely.
For the Bruins to make a deep run, they’ll need more bodies on the blue line, key guys like Chara, Seidenberg, Krejci, and Patrice Bergeron remaining healthy, and Tuukka Rask continuing his excellent play. If all three of these can happen, don’t be surprised if you see the Black and Gold in the Eastern Conference Finals.
