Celtics Should Not Make a Trade Right Now
The Celtics have been on a roll lately, winning 9 out of their last ten games and claiming the third seed in the East. So, is a trade needed right now?
With the trade deadline looming and talk earlier in the season about the need for the Boston Celtics to make a trade, ever since Brad Stevens shortened his rotation, the opposite is the case.
Yes, Danny Ainge has assets upon assets, and it’s possible he swings smaller trades involving other picks that aren’t the Brooklyn ones, and players such as James Young, David Lee and maybe even Jonas Jerebko.
The fact of the matter is that there isn’t much out on the market that the Celtics looks at as a must-get, and unless Kevin Durant magically becomes available, there isn’t anything that’s at all worth the Brooklyn first-rounder.

David Lee has made it known that he would like to be traded, and throw a draft pick in with him, and Danny can get another wing to help out Jae Crowder.
This team has started to gel as of late and to make a trade would ruin the chemistry that has propelled this Celtics team to 31 wins almost halfway through the season.
Newly minted All-Star point guard Isaiah Thomas has settled into his starting role perfectly as his scoring often keeps the Celtics in games.
The emergence of Avery Bradley has been huge for this team, his perimeter defense has been a staple for him since he got into the league, but he’s grown offensively and has no problem taking game-winners like this one:
The confidence this team has is incredible, and it’s most definitely thanks to head coach Brad Stevens, who has started to make a name for himself in the NBA.
Kelly Olynyk and Jared Sullinger have been better this year than they were last year, and Tyler Zeller has emerged from the cellar and has made a big impact.

The only trade that would be low-cost and realistic would be if Danny Ainge could manage a small trade for a scorer to help out Isaiah Thomas.
There’s no need to trade Jared Sullinger, Kelly Olynyk, Avery Bradley and the Brooklyn pick in a deal for anything that is short of great.
Jae Crowder, who was brought over in the Rajon Rondo deal last season has improved immensely and is locked up for a few more years. Marcus Smart, who is finally healthy, has shown that he is a gritty defender who is more valuable than numbers can ever tell.
The bench has even outscored starters on some nights, and former #2 overall pick Evan Turner has hit his stride in Stevens system.
