New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman was listed as a limited participant in Thursdays practice due to a foot injury.

Another important offensive weapon for the Patriots has landed on the injury report.  According to multiple sources Thursday, Julian Edelman was among the players limited in practice.

Because of the tight lipped nature of the Patriots organization, it is unclear whether Edelman suffered some sort of setback to his surgically repaired left foot.  It is also possible that the team just lightened his workload to preserve his health as Edelman is a player who goes all out whenever he is on the field.

If there is some sort of injury to Edelman’s foot, the timing is not good.  With Tom Brady returning to the field on Sunday, the quarterback and receiver have to be itching to get back to doing what they do best.

Julian Edelman joins running back LeGarrette Blount and tight end Rob Gronkowski as important pieces to the offense who were limited participants Thursday.

Jonathan CooperAccording to NESN.com, guard Jonathan Cooper appears to be healthy and ready to go.  Cooper, who was acquired in a trade for Chandler Jones, is coming off the injury report and will make his debut on Sunday against the Browns.

Cooper is excited to get a chance to show what he can do now that he is healthy.

“It’s nice to continue to work, get better, improve every day,” Cooper said Thursday.  “Pretty much just coming off the injury report, it was like, ‘All right.’  Now I’ll just continue to work, continue to improve day by day and see how I can help the team.”

Eric Rowe:  Another player acquired via trade is also healthy and ready to make his debut.  Cornerback Eric Rowe, who the team received by way of a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles, suffered an ankle injury soon after joining the team.

At 6-foot-1, 205 pounds, Rowe gives the Patriots a taller cornerback and adds depth behind starters Malcolm Butler and Logan Ryan.  Like Cooper, he is itching to get on the field and contribute.

“It kind of sucks just sitting to the side,” Rowe said.  “It’s good to get the wins, but you feel like you didn’t really help.  I just want to contribute to the wins.”
