Rob Gronkowski recorded his 21st career 100-yard game Sunday against the Cleveland Browns. The New England Patriots tight end appears to be returning to full health.

New England Patriots got their quarterback back on Sunday.  It also looks like they got the best tight end in the NFL back also.  In Sunday’s 31-13 thumping of the Cleveland Browns, Rob Gronkowski broke out with a five-catch and 109-yard performance.

He was certainly doing Gronk things on the field again as he ran over and through defenders on one play that left him just short of the end zone.  And on that play, it appeared that the hamstring injury that limited him so far this season is better.

"“I felt a lot better out there this week and now I’m getting back to my old self, so I feel great,” Gronkowski said after Sunday’s game.  “I love going out there and love playing football when I’m back to myself.”"

Coincidentally, Gronkowki’s unleashing happened to come in the same game Tom Brady returned in.  The way the two were able to connect was like old times.  In fact, Gronkowski credited Brady for pumping the team up and inspiring their total team effort.

"“Everyone was intense today [Sunday],” Gronkowski said, warming to his theme. “Everyone was amped up. Tom always brings the ampness.”"

More from New England Patriots

Jonathan Cooper:  Former Patriots guard Jonathan Cooper didn’t remain without a team for long.  In fact, Cooper has been claimed by the team the Patriots just beat on Sunday.

As reported by ESPN, the Cleveland Browns will be Cooper’s next destination.  Mainly due to injury, the former first-round pick of the Arizona Cardinals has struggled so far in his career.  A foot injury really enabled his chances to revive his career in New England.

Practice squad: The Patriots are always working out talent and were back at it on Monday. According to a report by NESN, the team worked out three free agents as they are in search for a 10th player to add to the practice squad following the promotion of Woodrow Hamilton to the 53-man roster.

The players who were in for a workout were fullback Austin Johnson, wide receiver Donteea Dye and tight end Gannon Sinclair.  Out of the three, Johnson has the most NFL experience.

The 6-foot-2, 240-pound product of Tennessee, Johnson recently spent time on the New Orleans Saints’ practice squad.  In 17 career games, he has carried the ball 12 times for 31 yards and has seven catches for 45 yards.  The Patriots are familiar with Johnson as he was with the Saints during the two team’s joint practices this past summer.
