Patriots tight end Martellus Bennett could see a big pay day in New England if the price is right for both sides.

The New England Patriots reportedly have a major interest in keeping the tandem of Rob Gronkowski and Martellus Bennett intact beyond this season.  Multiple sources have reported the past couple of days that the team has made extending the contract of Bennett a priority.

The star tight end should become a highly coveted free agent this off season.  The Patriots would like to retain his services for a couple of reasons.  He would provide security at the tight end position if Gronkowski were to miss time due to injury and he gives them the second option at tight end that they have been searching for.

Add those reasons with the fact that Bennett has bought in to the winning attitude of the team and you have a player who would be a valuable commodity to keep around.  So what does Bennett think about the prospects of extending his time in New England?

As of now, his mind is on the football field.

"“My money’s good,” Bennett said following Sunday’s win. “I’m just going through every game and playing football. When they address it, they address it. If they don’t, I’m not really worried about it. I have a diverse portfolio, so I’m not really tripping about that. I’m not really worried about that right now. I’m just trying to make plays and continue to play really good football.”"

If he continues to perform on the field, the money will continue to be good for Martellus Bennett.  It may even become great if sugarcoated with a Super Bowl appearance and victory.

Champions off the field:  As reported by Patriots.com, Duron Harmon and Dion Lewis got into the spirit of giving on Monday.  Both players spent Monday night delivering baskets full of Thanksgiving necessities to families in need.  Furthermore, Harmon and Lewis helped transfer the turkeys from the delivery van to the respective food banks.

Each player felt blessed to be able to lend a hand during a time of giving and during such difficult times for many families out there in need.

"“I’m blessed to be here in the NFL. There are a lot of responsibilities, and one is giving back. It’s something I cherish and realize how important it is to help the community,” Duron said. “It’s important to me that everyone is blessed with a good Thanksgiving. I want to be sure everyone’s smiling, especially on Thanksgiving because the focus should be on being thankful and happy.”"

Super Bowl odds: Despite their defensive struggles, the New England Patriots are still favored to win the Super Bowl this year.

According to Football Outsiders, the Patriots odds of winning the Super Bowl are at 27.0 percent.  The Seattle Seahawks come in second at 20.8 percent with the Dallas Cowboys coming in third at 15.4 percent.

These odds could change I the defense continues to struggle and the team is further hit with the injury bug.  When healthy, the Tom Brady and company are still one of the elite teams in the NFL even if the defense isn’t so elite.
