Rival and former teammate Darrelle Revis has lauded New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady as probably the best quarterback to step on the field.

And the compliments keep coming. Former Patriots cornerback Darrelle Revis has given Tom Brady the ultimate compliment.  Speaking to the media Wednesday, the Jets cornerback said Brady was “Probably the best quarterback to ever step on the field,” but also embraced the challenge of going up against the future Hall-of-Fame quarterback.

"“There’s no difference in his game,” Revis said via WEEI. “I know a lot of people say he came back with a chip on his shoulder. He’s the ultimate competitor. He’s always been that way since he stepped in the league and he’s continuing his legacy as being probably the best quarterback to ever step on the field.”"

Revis went on to applaud Brady’s legacy, calling him the best to have ever taken snaps behind center.  He also recalled what he learned from Brady while the two were teammates back in 2014.

"“I just feel he’s a very intelligent football player,” Revis said. “He studies the game like no other. He just works, man. He comes in working and he comes in and challenges guys. I mean, he called me out a few times when we were teammates: ‘I’m coming at you today, [Revis].’ He challenges guys like a leader should. That definitely speaks to how successful he’s been in this league.”"

Darrelle Revis may have even more appreciation for a quarterback like Brady considering the shuffle at quarterback he has seen during his time with the Jets.  A lack of a consistent quarterback is what has held the Jets back from becoming a major contender in the AFC East.

Brady for MVP:  Tom Brady was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week once again for his 4-TD performance against the 49ers.  With the achievement, he has re-established himself as the MVP favorite per Bovada.

He has 11/4 odds to win the MVP and comes in ahead of Russell Wilson (4/1), Ezekiel Elliott (9/2), Derek Carr (7/1) and Matt Ryan (7/1).

Injury report:  While Rob Gronkowski was seen on the practice field Wednesday, quarterback Tom Brady was not.  The star quarterback took a hit in the game against the Seattle Seahawks, but did not appear on the injured list last week.  He was spotted limping in this past Sunday’s game against the 49ers.  Brady’s absence Wednesday, however, does not mean it is injury related as he is expected to play on Sunday.

Another key player missing from practice was Matthew Slater.  The special teams star suffered a left foot injury in the 49ers game and did not play the entire second half of the game.

As mentioned above, Gronkowski was on the practice field.  Reports have surfaced that he has already been ruled out for Sunday’s game, but perhaps those reports were a bit premature.
