Boston Celtics rookie Jaylen Brown will be out with a hip injury until after the All-Star Break.

Like the Boston Celtics weren’t thin enough in the personnel department right?  Good thing there’s only a few days left until the All-Star break.  Seriously though guys, the Celtics need to start getting their guys back healthy.  It’s important for this team to finish the season healthy and really hold onto that second seed.

There’s only so much Jordan Mickey and James Young can help.  I guess if there’s a positive in any of this, it’s more Gerald Green and Terry Rozier.  Rozier has been a really great surprise, and Green is such a sparkplug.  The last thing I want is for Avery Bradley to come back too early and tear that Achilles.  That’s actually worst-case scenario when you think about it.  So the rest is good, and I trust the team doctors to get this right.

Jaylen Brown was really starting to find a rhythm.

Which for a rookie is huge.  I love watching Jaylen grow on the court, he’s gotten so much better this season and his extended minutes only gave him better opportunity to develop.  It’s not ideal that he’ll be out, but if that means an explosive and helpful Jaylen Brown in the postseason, I’m all for it.  Brown has started getting to the line more, and the only other guy that really draws fouls for Boston is Isaiah Thomas.

The Boston Celtics haven’t had a fully healthy roster for more than half of their games this season.  Guess what?   They’re the second best team in the east.  If they were 100%, they might have a chance to pull a last minute upset and snag that number one seed.  It’s highly unlikely, and everything has to fall perfectly for Boston, but hey what’s the harm in daydreaming?

Tonight in Dallas, Boston is going to have to dig deep into the bench and really get some production out of everyone.  I’m looking at you, bench guys.  The C’s have three games this week, it’s imperative they close out the first half of the season strong.
