The Boston Bruins have tons of prospects and will surely look extremely different in five years. Here’s how we think it may look on the ice.

The Boston Bruins will be a much different team five years from now. They are loaded with college and AHL prospects, and surely more will come.

For now, we will make our predictions based on players on the roster, in the AHL, or who are already Boston draft picks. Charlie McAvoy is headed to Providence to join some young guns who have already begun their NHL preparations.

It’s only a metter of time before McAvoy and others make the drive up to Boston to play in the TD Garden. Here is how I think, as of now, the Boston Bruins lines will look five years from now in 2021-2022:

Brad Marchand – Patrice Bergeron – Noel Acciari
Anders Bjork – Jakob Forsbacka-Karlsson – David Pastrnak
Frank Vatrano – Tim Schaller – Ryan Fitzgerald
Jesse Gabrielle – Ryan Spooner – Zach Senyshyn

Torey Krug – Brandon Carlo
Charlie McAvoy – Adam McQuaid
Jakub Zboril – Linus Arnesson

Tuukka Rask
Zane McIntyre

There are still a few current Bruins on the roster come 2021, but there’s plenty of turnover.

Brad Marchand signed an eight-year contract extension this season, and Patrice Bergeron will be in the last year of his contract. Boston will surely resign some of their top players and prospects like Pastrnak, Krug, Schaller and even Tuukka Rask.

I know many Bruins fans are looking to move on from Rask, but there really is no better option right now. Malcolm Subban hasn’t been improving like Boston desires, but maybe McIntyre can surplant Rask.

More from Chowder and Champions

Noel Acciari recently scored his first NHL goal, and he has the potential to become a first-line player alongside Marchand and Bergeron. Yes, Pastrnak could be a top line player but I think it’s better served to spread the wealth amongst the lines.

Pastrnak can team up with current NCAA hockey stars Bjork and JFK. Bjork is a solid left winger for Notre Dame while Forsbacka-Karlsson is a two-way center at Boston University.

Ryan Fitzgerald will join current Boston Bruins Frank Vatrano and Tim Schaller on the third line, a much needed improvement over Jimmy Hayes.

The forward lines will be completed by Gabrielle, Spooner and Senshyn. Of course, there is potential for Boston to actually bring in veterans to fill out the bottom lines.

Defense gets a facelift with the departure of Zdeno Chara. Torey Krug will become the #1 defenseman and will team up with Brandon Carlo.

The newest Bruin defenseman Charlie McAvoy will join a re-signed Adam McQuaid as the second defensive pairing. The third pairing is made up of two current prospects Jakub Zboril and Linus  Arnesson.

Next: McCoy Heading to Providence

I for one think this would be a strong team in the Atlantic and the Eastern Conference.
