New England Patriots Rumors: Marshawn Lynch Has Expressed Interest in Pats
Another big named player has expressed interest in playing for the New England Patriots. This player would come out of retirement to do so.
Who doesn’t want to play for the defending Super Bowl champions these days? According to Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald, former Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch is another big name player who has expressed interest in playing for the New England Patriots.
This rumor might seem be beyond crazy, but may not be too far fetch.
Two things stick out from what Howe has reported via Twitter on Monday. First, Lynch has privately expressed his interest if talks with the Oakland Raiders come to a halt. Second, there might be a connection between his interest in the Patriots and the future destination of good friend and former teammate Richard Sherman.

Lynch, who is currently retired from the NFL, has expressed interest in returning to the NFL the last few weeks. He reportedly met with the Raiders last week, but those talks have not progressed which does leave the possibility open of him joining another team.

The news coincides with the Patriots search for a power back. The team recently brought in Adrian Peterson for a visit and the team does have an offer on the table for LeGarrette Blount.
While bringing back Blount or finding a player through the draft would be considered the safe bet, a player like Lynch possibly joining the Patriots’ offense would just about lock a repeat trip to the Super Bowl at the least.
Ironically, Marshawn Lynch played his last game against the Patriots in Super Bowl XLIX. New England won the game 28-24 on a goal line interception by Malcolm Butler. The Patriots may have lost that Super Bowl if the Seattle Seahawks decided to hand the ball off to Lynch instead of passing.
As a player with a career 9,112 yards rushing, giving the ball to the man known as Beast Mode sure seemed like the right play to call in that situation.
