Boston Celtics Rumors: Team amongst top landing spots for Chris Bosh
Veteran forward Chris Bosh is reportedly moving on from the Miami Heat. Could he make his NBA comeback with the Boston Celtics?
Chris Bosh is not the name Boston Celtics fans have in mind when it comes to free agent possibilities this summer, but the rumors are already starting to swirl.
According to a report by Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel, Bosh and the Heat are close to working out an agreement that would allow the team to shave Bosh’s remaining salary from its salary cap. Under the agreement, the Heat would not have to worry about any future cap hit.
Bosh, who joined the Heat along with LeBron James back in 2010, was sidelined this past season when he failed a preseason physical. With continued concerns of blood clots that cut his previous two seasons short, there was a huge question on whether Bosh would play again.
While the concern is still there, it appears the 33-year-old former 11-time All-Star is prepared to make a comeback. The reported resolution with the Heat will allow him to become a free agent on July 1.

If Bosh does indeed join this summer’s list of free agents, the Celtics are amongst the teams listed as top destinations.
With the No. 1 pick in this year’s NBA draft, enough cap room to sign another elite star, adding Chris Bosh could fill the team’s void at power forward.
Of course, money would be the key objective here. If he could be had on the cheap, adding Bosh wouldn’t be bad at all for a team that made it to the Eastern Conference Finals.
Why Boston?
With the outside game Bosh has become known for as well as his ability to protect the rim, he is exactly the kind of big that fits Brad Stevens’ system. The age is not ideal, but as a short-term fit, Chris Bosh could compliment Al Horford in the front court. At the same time, he would be a good veteran presence for the younger guys.
This doesn’t mean the Celtics are high on Bosh’s list. It is likely he will have his intentions set on a couple other contenders. The Houston Rockets would also be a nice fit and then there is LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
