Boston Celtics meeting with Markelle Fultz over the next few days
Markelle Fultz is expected to be drafted No. 1 overall by the Boston Celtics, and he arrived in Boston today to meet with the team.
Many experts and fans expect the Boston Celtics to select Washington point guard Markelle Fultz 1st overall in this year’s NBA Draft. It’s been the popular opinion, especially since Lonzo Ball has refused to workout for the C’s.
Even before then though, most said Fultz is Boston’s guy.
Two days of meetings and workouts have begun between Boston and Fultz.
On Monday, Fultz had definitely arrived in Boston.
According to the Boston Globe, Fultz was set to meet with team president Danny Ainge, head coach Brad Stevens, and the team’s scouting and personnel staff today.
Tomorrow he’ll undergo a physical and workout at the Celtics’ Waltham practice facility.

Markelle Fultz has already said he’s love to be the top pick in the draft to come play in Boston, so his meetings with the team should go smoothly.
"“I want to be the No. 1 pick really bad. It’s been a dream of mine since I was a little kid and I feel like I would fit well in Boston.”"
Likewise, many Boston fans want to see Fultz in green.
Boston is building for the future as well as the present. Fultz would surely be a great player to pair with Jaylen Brown in a few years. In the meantime, he may be a key bench player on a team that should contend once again in the Eastern Conference next season. Al Horford believes the team will be able to attract free agents to knock the Cavs off at the top of the East.

The 2017 NBA Draft will take place on June 22nd at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. The venue is ironic seeing as the Nets are the only reason Boston has this year’s top pick. Don’t be surprised if there are some loud boos when the Celtics select guard Markelle Fultz from the University of Washington with the first overall pick.
