The Boston Celtics big free agency plans will begin to take form this weekend when Gordon Hayward visits with team officials.

Gordon Hayward is one of the most sought-after free agents of the summer of 2017. He’ll likely end up with the Boston Celtics, Miami Heat or Utah Jazz.

On Wednesday reports began to surface regarding Hayward’s planned meetings with the above teams. He’ll reportedly visit Miami on Saturday, Boston on Sunday, and then meet with his current team in Utah on Monday.

On the surface, it seems like granting the Jazz the last meeting allows them to make a last-ditch effort to keep their star. Realistically though, it seems more and more likely that Hayward ends up in Celtics green.

While Miami could be an enticing option for the star forward, it’s said that the city may not fit his personality. He’s not much of a partier, and Miami is most certainly a party city. The Celtics meanwhile are home to no frills, just pure hard-nosed basketball.

It’s believed that the Boston Celtics already have a planned trade in place with the Indianapolis Pacers for Paul George if they can sign Hayward. That will certainly be a part of their pitch to Hayward. The two would help to form a big four here in Boston, with Isaiah Thomas and Al Horford making up the second half. We’d have to see if Hayward and George can play together.

Last summer, the Celtics were pitching Boston to then free agent Kevin Durant. They brought in New England Patriots superstar Tom Brady to make the pitch, but some think the C’s should turn to their own former stars this time around. Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett are both retired now, so they could be two former stars used to lure Hayward to Boston. They know a thing or two about trades and free agency helping to form a strong team to deliver a championship to Boston.

Hayward and all other NBA free agents cannot sign a deal until July 6th, but this is the first step in the process. His final meeting with the Jazz will take place on the 3rd, so he’ll have 3 days to mull things over. In the end, I think Hayward does come to Boston with the hopes of forming a big four.
