Jae Crowder had another superb year with the Boston Celtics. In just his 6th season, it’s clear that Crowder is entering the prime of his career.

This is Crowder’s 2nd straight season with the Boston Celtics and his 3rd overall in his short 6-year career. Despite GM Danny Ainge showing love for Crowder by vowing to not trade him in a package deal for Jimmy Butler earlier this year, his future with the Celtics is still unknown.

Crowder is signed through 2020 but with Boston making a bunch of moves this offseason, anything can happen.

Crowder is 6’6″, a normal sized SF but Boston loves him for his physical play. Boston is known for one of the smaller teams in the NBA, Crowder doesn’t provide height but uses his bulk to his advantage.

Back in February, NBA reporter David Aldridge reported on Danny Ainge’s thoughts on Crowder.

More from Chowder and Champions

"“I think the Jimmy Butler stuff is real,” Aldridge told NBATV’s GameTime. “[The Celtics] have been trying to get Jimmy Butler. [Ainge] doesn’t want to give up Jae Crowder. That’s the main sticking point there and he doesn’t want to give up Jae Crowder in a deal and that’s the guy the Bulls are insisting on right now in any package for Butler.”"

2016-2017 Regular and Postseason Stats

Jae Crowder‘s numbers don’t seem that impressive, but playing with a scoring machine like Isaiah Thomas will do that. Crowder had 8 double-doubles this season, doubling the amount he had last season (4). Averaging just 0.3 points less per game this season than last (14.2), Crowder averaged the most rebounds and assists per game in his career.

Regular Season – 72 GP (72 GS)

| 13.9 Pts | 5.8 Reb | 2.2 Ast | 1.0 Stl | 0.3 Blk |

| 32.4 Min | FG 46.3% | 3P 39.8% | FT 81.1% |

As you can see Jae’s regular and post season stats are fairly similar. That isn’t necessarily a bad thing for Crowder, who isn’t known for his scoring. He’s more known for scoring 10-15 points and racking up rebounds, assists, blocks, etc.

With that being said, we still have yet to see Crowder turn it up in the post season. His number’s are fine, but the greats perform better on bigger stages. Hopefully Crowder, along with every other Celtics player gained valuable playoff minutes this season.

With Boston playing in 18 post season games, Crowder racked up 596 post season minutes.

Postseason – 18 GP (18 GS)

| 13.6 Pts | 6.4 Reb | 2.7 Ast | 1.1 Stl | 0.4 Blk |

| 33.1 Min | FG 43.5% | 3P 35.2% | FT 83.3% |

Hopefully Jae Crowder will be wearing Green next season, he is a valuable asset who now has big game experience to help mentor the younger players.
