Boston Celtics: Kyrie Irving is the perfect fit and here’s why
By Ben Porter
Kyrie Irving proved Monday why he is a perfect fit for the Boston Celtics, and it has nothing to do with his play on the court.
I think it goes without saying that Boston is going to miss Isaiah Thomas dearly. He is a feisty competitor and poured his heart and soul into the Boston Celtics. Those who bleed green wish IT nothing but the best in his NBA career, though it will be very hard to watch him play alongside LeBron James.
That being said, Boston received an elite talent on the other side of the trade. Kyrie Irving needs no introduction, and if I posted all of his highlights then this blog may never come to an end.
What I will post, however, is the moment Celtics fans realized that Kyrie belongs in a Celtics uniform. What I’m referring to are his blatantly disrespectful comments regarding LeBron James.
LeBron, as much as it pains me to say this, is an incredible basketball player. What is equally as painful, however, is LeBron’s off-court demeanor. His social media presence is arrogant and displays a persona that paints him to be a saint. He is essentially a fake J.J. Watt.

What Kyrie has given insight to is how LeBron is behind the scenes. Is he the teammate that is incapable of chemistry due to his Kanye West ego? Kyrie’s actions tell us what we’ve all suspected for some time: yes.
Motivated by Hate
The Celtics have fallen victim to LeBron’s talents many times over the past decade and then some. Today, however, a true millennial Celtic was born. A player whose hatred for LeBron has been cultivated over years and grown organically on the court.
With Isaiah Thomas gone, Kyrie Irving is our guy. He will lead the charge on Cleveland and challenge LeBron; the likes of which we haven’t seen since Achilles challenging Hector outside of the gates of Troy.
Every Boston sports fan knows the importance of the immeasurables. Tom Brady’s career has grown on heart and dedication. Dustin Pedroia has grinded his way to become one the the MLB’s best second basemen despite being “undersized”. Isaiah Thomas played with a burning fire, motivated by his naysayers.
Kyrie Irving is next in line. Motivated by his disdain for LeBron James, he will assert himself as the most dominant player in the East. He will lead the Boston Celtics to the NBA Championship. Celtics nation finally has what we deserve: a player who hates LeBron as much as we do.
