The New England Patriots defense will look to improve in week 4, while Tom Brady and the offense aim to keep up their quick pace.

When the New England Patriots and Carolina Panthers meet on Sunday afternoon, one team will have the clear edge. The Patriots will not lose this game, and they’re going to show the rest of the NFL that they are still the top dog.

Tom Brady has been amazing over the first three weeks of the season, and he will likely continue that against Carolina’s defense. The Panthers offense though should be a focus, as they’ve struggled to score this season. New England’s defense needs to prove that they aren’t as bad as they’ve played so far in 2017.

Here are my player projections for this week 4 matchup! I also provide my prediction for the final score in Foxboro.

Tom Brady: 325 yards, 3 TDs

Brady is the greatest QB of all-time, and he’s still the best QB in the league right now. He will continue his terrific pace with 3 touchdown passes and no interceptions. Brady will also rack up the yards, with at least 325 on the day.

Brandin Cooks: 120 yards, 1 TD

Brandin Cooks looked a lot better in week 3, and he will continue to improve in the Patriots offense. This week, he should have no problems getting open he’ll shine. Cooks touchdown could come on a Brady long ball today, maybe a 60-yarder.

Dion Lewis: 25 rushing yards, 70 receiving yards, 1 TD

While Dion Lewis has been quite to start the year, he could get back into the action today. New England’s defense will be worried about Christian McCaffrey, but Carolina also needs to worry about a speedy back. Lewis could breakout today with a huge game, and I think he will.

More from New England Patriots

Deatrich Wise: 3 TFL, 1.5 sacks

Deatrich Wise is going to continue his phenomenal start to his rookie season. On Sunday, I’m looking for a big game from Wise, with 3 tackles behind the line and 1.5 sacks. The pressure needs to get to Panthers QB Cam Newton early.

Dont’a Hightower: 2 sacks

Hightower will be back leading the Patriots defense this week. He should be sent on the blitz quite often, and he’s going to take Cam Newton down more than just once.

Stephen Gostkowski: 2/2 FGs, 5/5 XPs

Stephen Gostkowski is going to perfect. 2 field goals and 5 extra point kicks will all go in right down the middle. Of course, he’ll also have a ton of touchbacks on kickoffs.

Game Score: Patriots 41 Panthers 24

This is a statement game for the New England Patriots. There is no way they lose, and they won’t even let the Panthers get close. The defense is going to step up big time, and the offense is going to remain as the best in the NFL. The NFC South is no match for New England at all. You’re up next Tampa Bay!
