Weekly New England college hockey wrap-up for October 9th
College hockey came back full boar this past weekend, and the UNH Wildcats made the biggest push while UMass Lowell fell flat.
UMass Lowell did not have a great weekend when it comes to college hockey. They dropped a Friday tilt to UNH 4-3 and lost at the Wildcats arena 3-1 on Saturday. Those two wins over the then #5 team in the nation helped push UNH into the USCHO top-20.
Northeastern meanwhile jumped 6 spots, up to #14 after huge blowout wins over Sacred Heart 7-3 and 7-0 at home. Quinnipiac though had a tough weekend as well. On Friday they played Boston College to a 1-1 tie, and then they lost to Boston University 3-2 in overtime. That dropped them a few spots in the rankings, but they’ll certainly bounce back.

If you watch just one game…
Once again, Boston College is featured in my game of the week. They have two tough matchups this weekend with Wisconsin and Providence, and I’m choosing the Friday game this week.
The Wisconsin Badgers are a tough squad, and it’s not often you get such a great matchup outside of the conference this early in the season. BC will be looking to make a statement here.
