Heading into New York Jets territory, New England Patriots wide receiver Chris Hogan looks to keep his hot streak going.

When the New England Patriots acquired wide receiver Brandin Cooks, everyone was expecting him to be an offensive powerhouse for the defending Super Bowl champs. In fact, there was a rumor of him being a Randy Moss 2.0. So far Cooks has been alright, but the main star has been  wide receiver Chris Hogan.

Slow start, fast turnaround

Chris Hogan didn’t have the strongest start to the season. In fact, it was mediocre.  He had just one catch for eight yards in the opening game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Following that game, he began to show signs of the breakout player we all envisioned entering the season with an  average of 57 yards a game and a touchdown.

While those aren’t Julio Jones numbers, these stats show that Hogan is on his on the rise. He turned his season around and he seems to be on his way to becoming a great receiver and certainly  flourishing as one of Tom Brady’s favorite targets.

Chris Hogan has 5 touchdowns so far this season. He is actually the leader in  number of receiving touchdowns on this team. He has been a great security blanket for Tom Brady, averaging nine yards a carry when Rob Gronkowski was out against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 5. This is great news going into a surprisingly good Jets team that’s won three games in a row.

Hogan could take off in the Jets home.

Going into a divisional match-up against the Jets, the New England Patriots have a chance to break the 3-way tie for first in the AFC East. The best way they could  accomplish this is by targeting their main man Chris Hogan.

The Jets defense is average, but with Cooks on the field this opens up more space for Hogan to make catches because Cooks draws plenty of coverage.   Gronkowski is also dealing with a thigh and groin injury and even though he is slated to be suiting up, if he doesn’t get a lot of snaps then Hogan will make up the rest of them.

All eyes on Hogan

With this important matchup on the horizon, it will be crucial for Chris Hogan to continue his production. This could turn out to be a big day for the former LaCrosse player.
