Boston Bruins injury report: Tuukka Rask helped off ice after collision
By Sam Minton
The Boston Bruins injury woes continue.
NBC Sports Boston Bruins Insider Joe Haggerty reported a few hours ago that Boston Bruins Goaltender Tuukka Rask had to be helped off the ice after a collision with Anders Bjork.
No one knows the severity of the injury but it is never good when your goaltender is being helped off the ice. Head Coach Bruce Cassidy spoke about the injury after practice.
"“He left early. We had a line rush drill where there was obviously contact around the net. He’s being evaluated. Hopefully, he’s fine, but we don’t know anything until he gets checked out.”"
Bjork ended up only getting a cut on his lip. You got to feel bad for the rookie. Hockey is such a fast sport so collisions can happen. After practice, he talked about how he felt bad for Rask.

"“Just kind of ran into Tuukka there, we were doing three-on-twos…it was a fast play, don’t really know what happened, a lot of bodies around there,” said Bjork. “It’s really unfortunate that that happened, but I hope he’s OK and just wish I would have held up there. When the game happens so fast, sometimes it just happens before you can think.”"
It has been a rough start to the season for Rask. In 4 starts he is 1-3 with a 3.30 GAA and a .882 save percentage. Overall the whole team is struggling this injury doesn’t help.
If Tuukka Rask is unable to play on Thursday versus the Vancouver Canucks Anton Khudobin will be in net. Khudobin is having a good start to the season. He got his first start on Saturday and the Bruins were able to pick up the victory versus the Arizona Coyotes 6-2. Khudobin stopped an impressive 29 shots.
At least so far this season Khudobin is performing better. Something has been up with Rask and he has just been playing poorly since the opening game. It may not be such a bad idea to have Khudobin keep the momentum and get a few starts while Tuukka rests.

If this is a serious injury the Bruins will be in big trouble. Even though he has been struggling the Bruins need Rask if they are going to make a run in the playoffs.
