Boston College football is on a roll winning their last two games and three of their last four. Florida State will try to slow them down.

After a 1-3 start, it looked like Boston College was heading towards another terrible season. Since then, they’ve rattled off a 3-1 record to get to 4-4. They need to win just two more games in their next four to become bowl eligible.

The journey to bowl eligibility will begin on Friday night when the Florida State Seminoles roll into Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill.

Florida State has struggled so far in 2017, so every game is a must-win if they want to have a winning season and play in a bowl game. The Seminoles sit at 2-4 currently, with wins over Wake Forest and Duke. They have lost to Alabama, NC State, Miami, and Louisville. The loss to Louisville came last weekend, the Cardinals first game since losing to Boston College. To become bowl eligible by reaching 6 wins, FSU will need to win 4 of their next 5 games. That’s not going to be easy with their remaining schedule including Syracuse, Clemson, and Florida. Expect the ‘Noles to bring their all tonight at The Heights.

Steve Addazio and the Eagles can send a message Friday night on national television that BC football is back. The spotlight has been on them ever since they beat Louisville two weeks ago, and they want to keep the train rolling. The Eagles need two wins in their final four against FSU, NC State, UConn, and Syracuse. It’s certainly possible that we will see BC in a bowl game this season.

More from Chowder and Champions

BC will look to shake up Florida State freshman QB James Blackman like Louisville did last week. Edge rushers Harold Landry and Zach Allen could have a field day in this game. Landry, a senior NFL prospect, has 5 sacks so far this year, but he hasn’t had one since October 7th against Virginia Tech. In that game, he actually broke out for 3 on the day. Landry will be hoping for that same kind of production again tonight against FSU.

Eagles QB Anthony Brown will have to step up again this week as he leads the offense. Boston College has totaled more than 500 yards on offense in each of their last two games. Aside from Brown’s improved play, RB A.J. Dillon has been a star. Dillon had 272 yards against Louisville on the ground, and he added 89 last week against Virginia. His 694 rushing yards has him 4th in the nation for freshmen. FSU has given up 144.3 yards per game rushing this season, so this could be another strong week for Dillon behind this strong Eagles offensive line.

Game Prediction

While our sister site Chop Chat is picking the Seminoles to win a close 28-20 game, at least the “experts” over at CBS have this game being a little closer. Personally, I’m going to go with a final score of Boston College 35, Florida State 20. I believe that Harold Landry will be a menace to Florida State all night long, and the Eagles winning streak will continue. Boston College will shock a lot of people with a two-score win over the Seminoles.
