New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick to be featured in ’30 for 30′
We all know how much Bill Belichick hates the media and snapface, but now he’ll be at the center of a new ESPN ’30 for 30′ with Bill Parcells.
Bill Parcells and Bill Belichick have a long, twisted, complex history with one another, and the former and current New England Patriots coach both agreed to sit down with NFL Films to discuss it. Now, ESPN will feature their story in an upcoming ’30 for 30′.
The pair met as coaches for the New York Giants in the 1980’s, and they had a lot of success there. The pair stuck together when Belichick was a defensive backs coach for Parcell’s Patriots in 1996. When Parcells took the head coaching job with the New York Jets the next season, Belichick followed as the defensive coordinator.
Of course, Parcells resigned in 1999 and handed the team off to Bill Belichick.

Bill Belichick infamously shunned the New York Jets. He was their head coach for just one day. At the press conference that was meant to introduce Belichick as the head coach, he instead resigned. Bill Belichick was then introduced as the New England Patriots head coach, but the Patriots had to send a 1st round draft pick as compensation to New York.
The ESPN ’30 for 30′ short film will be titled “The Two Bills.” In it, Belichick and Parcells look like they have sat down for a joint interview. The film should cover their time with the Giants, Patriots, and Jets, and it will be interesting to hear some insight from the two men themselves.

Bill Parcells has the 11th most wins of any NFL head coach, ahead of Tom Coughlin, Mike Shannahan, Jeff Fisher and Mike Holmgren. Bill Belichick is currently 4th with 269 wins, just 1 behind Tom Landry. These are two of the best football minds in NFL history, and it’s no coincidence how intertwined their careers have been. The Big Tuna and Belichick should deliver one of ESPN’s greatest ’30 for 30′ features ever.
