Boston Bruins: Khudobin’s extraordinary effort leads team to victory
By Sam Minton
With some great goaltending and some help from rookies the Boston Bruins were able to end their California road trip on a high note.
four out of six points on a road trip across the country isn’t too shabby. Especially when you are without players such as Torey Krug and Brad Marchand. With their 3-1 victory on Saturday night over the San Jose Sharks the Boston Bruins did just that.
With several players out due to injury, the Bruins have been forced to play a lineup filled with rookies. They were the driving force of the team on Saturday night.
Jake DeBrusk had a breakout game. On the offensive side of the puck something clicked as he scored his 4th goal of the season an assisted on the first goal of the game.
The assist was spectacular because Debrusk dangled his way through the San Jose defense and almost had himself a goal but with Aaron Dell making the original save Peter Cehlarik rushed the net and was able to score his first NHL goal.

DeBrusk goal in the second period was a testament to his speed as Charlie McAvoy was just looking to get the puck out of the Bruins zone but DeBrusk was able to get by Brett Burns, race down to San Jose’s zone and just had to beat Dell to get his 4th goal of the season.
Another great effort by Khudobin
Man, no one could have seen this coming. Anton Khudobin played out of his mind. Khudobin stopped 36 shots on the night. and is now 5-0-2 on the season. In the third period Khudobin’s spectacular play helped the Bruins maintain the lead. With Khudobin playing this way it is hard to let him just sit on the bench. The Bruins need to ride this hot streak out and hopefully that doesn’t come anytime soon.
The win now puts the team above .500. They don’t play until Wednesday against the New Jersey Devils. If this team can perform like they did the last two games Bruins games will be watchable again.

Factor in Brad Marchand and Torey Krug’s return the Bruins may be able to go on a run and attempt to reclaim their season.
