Miami Dolphins defensive linemen Ndamukong Suh hopes to inflict more pain on New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady when the two teams face off again.

The New England Patriots hope to accomplish two things Monday night when they face off against the Miami Dolphins.  One thing is to clinch the AFC East crown once again.  The other is to protect the health of Tom Brady.

That means keeping Dolphins defensive end Ndamukong Suh out of the face and mind of the 40-year-old quarterback. While an angry Brady is not a bad thing, a banged-up Brady can disrupt the Patriots offense in a big way.

Speaking to the Miami media, Suh joked that his job is to get under the skin of the five-time Super Bowl champion.  He also talked about delivering some good hits on Brady, most recently when the two teams played just two weeks ago in a 35-17 Patriots win.

"“I think the last game we played them, we had some good hits on him and understood what they wanted to do,” Suh said, as transcribed by WEEI.  “Personally, I can reach back to sometimes in Detroit where they actually pulled him from a game.  [It was] a preseason game, so maybe it wasn’t that important; but it was important for us just to get a gauge to see where we were at.  I’ve had some success against him.”"

Overall, Suh has sacked Tom Brady just 1.5 times in eight games against the New England Patriots.  Considering his dominance, Bill Belichick’s crew does a pretty good job against the volatile defensive playmaker.

The offensive line will have to really step up Monday night to stop Ndamukong Suh from “inflicting pain” on their quarterback and possibly changing the direction of the season.

Brady misses another practice

Speaking of Tom Brady health concerns, the usually pliable quarterback missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday.

According to ESPN’s Mike Reiss, this marks the first time Brady has missed back-to-back practices all week.  Given that the team does have an extra day of practice this week, it could be simply just an extra day of rest for Brady who has been nursing an Achilles injury.

Unless the injury has transcended into something more serious, Brady will play in the Monday night matchup against the Dolphins.

Injury report

Tom Brady was not the only player to miss practice on Thursday.  According to the latest injury report, rookie defensive lineman Deatrich Wise was absent due to a foot injury.  Marcus Cannon and Kyle Van Noy also did not participate on Thursday.

With those players participation in Monday night’s matchup up in the air, the Patriots have a long list of players who were limited.  Topping that list includes Malcolm Butler, Trey Flowers, Chris Hogan, Stephen Gilmore, Eric Rowe, Matthew Slater and LaAdrian Waddle.
