Boston Bruins 2017: A fan’s Christmas letter to NHL Santa
By Tre Wiggins
Since it is that time of year where we decorate our houses and find elves on shelves when we awake each day, I have decided to write a letter to Santa on behalf of the Boston Bruins.
Dear Santa,
Salutations! I hope that this past year has been as good for you as it has been for me. I have enjoyed some great gifts that you’ve given me. One of the more memorable ones is the bright future of the Boston Bruins. It has been fun to watch this present develop. It has taken some time, but it has been worth it.
However, I still have some wishes for you to hopefully grant. I imagine it won’t be an issue. What can I say, cookies talk.
This year, I want the Bruins to win the Stanley Cup. I still have a bitter taste in my mouth from when the Chicago Blackhawks beat us out for it a several years ago. It would be nice to see my team stand above the rest this year. I know I ask for this every year, but what the heck? Trophies mean a lot to me, especially when it is socially acceptable to eat cereal out of them!

I also want the Bruins to start to play consistently well. They have been off and on recently. It has been nice to see my team play well when they are feeling it. Other times it has been heartbreaking to see them play just as bad as they played well. It would help you give us a championship if you helped Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand, Zdeno Chara and crew play well a little more often!
How could I forget?
Above everything other than the Stanley Cup, I want Tuuka Rask to get the recognition that he deserves. He is, in my opinion, one of the best goalies in the league, and I am sick and tired of people saying he sucks. He is severely underrated.
Also, Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand could stand to get more praise. They are two of the best forwards in the game. Patrice is right up there with Sydney Crosby if you ask me.
Next: Charlie McAvoy continues to prove he is a unique player
If you could do all of this for me, I would be one happy camper! Merry Christmas!
Sincerely,
Tre Wiggins (and the whole Boston Bruins team)
