Boston Bruins: Mr.Overtime does it again
By Sam Minton
The Boston Bruins were blessed with the return of one of their best players on Sunday night. The B’s went into Minnesota and were able to come out with another victory.
The Boston Bruins love to keep things interesting. They defeated the Dallas Stars with a goal with less than a minute left on Friday night, and on Sunday night they continued their late-game heroics, defeating the Minnesota Wild 2-1.
Welcome back Patrice Bergeron
The Bruins were without the glue of their offense for a few weeks as Patrice Bergeron was out with a fractured foot. Bergeron joined the team in Minnesota and immediately was able to contribute.
Bergeron assisted on both Bruins goals on Sunday. The members of the B’s first line are great by themselves, but when they are all together they are deadly. “Bergy” sauced a pass to David Pastrnak who blasted home the one-timer for his 30th goal of the season, and the Bruins first goal of the game.

The one-timer is Pastrnak’s weapon of choice. With Bergeron back, I would expect a lot more scoring from the Bruins.
Another one!
This season Brad Marchand has been amazing when the game goes into Overtime. It may be because the ice is wide open with it being 3-on-3, but Marchand just seems to dominate in sudden death.
It didn’t take Marchand long to score in OT. Just 28 seconds into the extra period “Marchy” was able to put the puck in the net.
Marchand burst down the ice and rifled a wrist shot by Alex Stalock to clinch the game.
The goal was his 8th game-winning goal of the season, and his 5th goal in Overtime.
Marchand has had an amazing season. He continues to be one of the top goal scorers for the Boston Bruins.
Rask answers the call
Tuukka Rask was there for the Bruins when they needed him on Sunday night. He stopped 24 shots including some key saves in the first two periods to maintain the Bruins lead. Rask has been performing much better in his last couple of games. He has only allowed three goals in his last two games. This type of play is exactly what the Bruins need from their goaltender.
Rask is actually on another impressive streak. He is on a 9 game points streak. This streak is impressive due to the fact that even though Rask has allowed a lot of goals at points, he and the Bruins are still able to find ways to win.
Everything seems to be coming up roses for the Bruins as of late. Bergeron is back, Zdeno Chara, and Charlie McAvoy are skating, and they are only two points away from 1st place in the East.
Even this late in the season, this Boston Bruins team continues to impress. They are going to be hard to beat in the playoffs.
Next: David Pastrnak is paying off
Bruins fans are patiently waiting for the end of the regular season so we can watch this team make a run for a Stanley Cup.
