Boston Red Sox: The Sox will win the American League East

The Boston Red Sox have a balanced roster with a lot of talent and experience. In a loaded division, I still expect them to come out on top.

The Boston Red Sox are one of the best teams in the league with a lot to prove. With new manager Alex Cora and a solidified identity as a power hitting team, they can go toe to toe with the best teams in the MLB.

The Sox are in a division that has tons of power hitters. The New York Yankees have 3 guys that can absolutely demolish a baseball. Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton are the two big ones, but Gary Sanchez can hit homers in spurts.

The Toronto Blue Jays are a team that has to be hot as a whole in order to do real damage, but when Josh Donaldson and company have hot bats, they can be one of the most dangerous in the league.

Though Boston can always respond with their own hitting attack, they also have a dangerous starting rotation. Chris Sale, David Price, Drew Pomeranz, and Rick Porcello combined for most of the pitching wins in the AL over the last 6 years.

Superior pitching

Pomeranz and Sale led the team’s pitching staff last year, despite many expecting the duo of Sale and Porcello to get the job done with the assistance of Price. Nevertheless, they got the job done for most of the season.

Craig Kimbrel, the team’s closer, has been a huge factor late in games, for he had the most saves in the league last year. Kimbrel is a master when it comes to holding a lead. You’ll hardly ever see someone walk off on the man. He is one of the many players that have a huge role on this team.

Balance is everything

Though statistically, the Red Sox are not the best hitting team in the league, they are one of them, and their pitching helps make them one of the most well-rounded teams. Why would you need superstar hitting when you can have good hitting and superstar pitching?
